Deepwater Operation Rig Management
Team members boast extensive expertise in the upgrading, overhauling, and operational management of semi-submersible rigs. Familiar with current mainstream semi-rig types, including the harsh environmental and ultra-deepwater rigs, with key project experience such as 2015-2016 CNPC/CPOE Gas Hydrate Phase I (Lingshui Block, South China Sea, 1220-2050m) – CNOOC’s first deepwater gas field development, delivered 200 days early, a South China Sea deepwater benchmark; 2019-2021 CNOOC LS17-2 (Lingshui Block, 1220-2050m) – 200 days early delivery, deepwater development benchmark; 2023-2024 CNOOC LS25-1 (with Bluewhale I, Lingshui Block, 893-967m) – ahead-of-schedule completion, 2024 monthly dayrate capture rate 100.43%; CNPC/CPOE Gas Hydrate Phase II (with Guangzhou Geology Survey Bureau, CNPC, Bluewhale II, Shenhu Block, 1225m) – 2 world gas production records, zero NPT and lost-time incidents.

Jack-Up Rig Operation Rig Management
Team members have participated in the upgrade, overhaul and operation of more than 30 jack-up rigs and are familiar with various current mainstream rig types, with key experience including: CASPIAN DRILLER (Friede & Goldman/Super M2) – daily operation management, long-term drilling contract with Dragon Oil since 2015 (renewed for 5 years in 2019, extended to 2027 in early 2024); COSL STRIKE (KFELS MOD B CLASS UNIT) – rig upgrade, modification and drilling&completion operation, successfully entered Saudi Aramco market in 2018 meeting its strict modification & certification requirements; COSL CONFIDENCE (Baker Marine Pacific Class 375) – rig operation management, dock repair & modification, COSL’s first high-spec jack-up rig to enter the Gulf of Mexico in 2011; COSL HYSY942 (JU2000E) – rig operation management, dock repair & modification, China’s largest, most advanced jack-up rig with 400-foot water depth at that time.

Land Rig Operation Rig Management
With hands-on experience in retrofitting, maintenance, and operations for more than 40 land rigs, the team possesses comprehensive expertise in mainstream technical specifications, with key experience including: Saudi Onshore Rig Project (SP121 Rig) – 2014 collaboration between Henan Oilfield Drilling Company and Saudi Aramco in Saudi Arabia’s Shiba Block, providing repair & modification support and standardized construction for the rig team covering drilling to workover, efficiently completing modifications and 4 workover operations; Albania Project (HL30 Rig) – 2015 Hilong-Shell cooperation, participating in HL30 rig commissioning support, formulating standardized operating procedures and bridge documents aligned with Shell's management system, successfully completing full equipment customs clearance, transportation, installation and commissioning; Iraq Project (HH8 Rig) – 2021 Honghua-Iraqi National Oil Company’s Majnoon Oilfield Project, fully undertaking HH8 rig upgrade and modification tasks, completing equipment upgrading, modification and acceptance in a short period, achieving successful rig commissioning and winning high recognition from the client; Shanxi Coalbed Methane Project (Changzhi District Rigs) – 2025 in-depth research and preparation for coalbed methane project investment, with thorough insights into local conditions, resources and project economic analysis in Shanxi.

Directional/Horizontal Well Drilling Technology
It has developed 16 directional horizontal well drilling technology series in 8 categories, including integrated geosteering drilling technology, ultra-deep high-temperature horizontal well technology and high-strength/double-layer casing windowing technology, which are suitable for various geological conditions. It has 30 teams with Class A directional operation qualification of PetroChina, 350 sets of supporting instruments and tools developed and 108 sets of professional software, which leads to the ability to provide directional drilling, geosteering drilling equipment and technical services for ultra-deep high-temperature wells and various horizontal wells at home and abroad.
Self-Developed Rotary Steering-CG-Steer
The Drilling and Production Institute has successfully developed th e CG STEER rotary steering drilling system with independent intellectual property rights in view of the urgent need for the development of unconventional resources such as shale gas and tight gas in China. CG has completed more than 150 wells in Sichuan-Chongqing shale gas, tight gas, conventional gas, Xinjiang shale oil, Changqing tight gas, Jilin shale oil and overseas Central Asia, with a total footage of more than 170,000 meters.

Precise Pressure Control Drilling Technology(MPD)
The rotary BOP is miniaturized, low in height, and convenient for installation. The serial circulating cooling structure design ensures the sealing reliability of the equipment and prolongs the service life of the assembly.
The pressure automatic control system (electric control) is designed with a single-blade double-inlet structure, which has the functions of automatic control and remote control, and the pressure level is 14 MPa. During pressure control operation, the throttling accuracy of ±0.1 MPa can be realized, which can meet the requirements of automatic control and compensation of wellhead pressure in drilling and cementing.
The new plunger throttle valve is erosion resistant and has a long service life.
The dynamic balance pressure cementing simulation analysis and control software can realize the optimization design of slurry column structure and the real - time dynamic control of annular pressure in cementing, displacement and wait - on - cement stages, and the simulation accuracy is greater than or equal to 95%.

Coring Technology

Become the most perfect professional coring service team with the most comprehensive strength in the domestic industrial chain; The unique Sichuan-style coring technology has a market share of more than 80% in China.

Oil-Based Cuttings Thermal Desorption Treatment Technology
Aiming at the problem of high transportation risk in the disposal of oil-based cuttings in remote exploration wells in shale gas development, a thermal desorption treatment device for oil-based cuttings while drilling is developed, which adopts "grinding" internal heating technology, heats uniformly, recovers high oil quality, and the oil content of the residue after treatment is less than 0.35%. It is not identified as hazardous waste by a third party and can be used according to DB51/T 2850-2021. The unit completed the treatment of oil-based cuttings while drilling in two wells on Wei202-H23 platform, with a cumulative treatment of 1125 tons of oil-based cuttings, and all the recovered fluids were used to re-prepare oil-based mud. The processing mode of oil-based cuttings while drilling is established.

Mechanical integrated window milling tool: This tool is used for window milling sidetracking in old Wells, which adopts mechanical sitting and anchoring.It has the characteristics of drilling to complete the slant seat sealing, milling window, repairing window and drilling eye.

Hydraulic window milling (section milling) tools series
Hydraulic window milling (section milling) tools series: φ127~φ244.5 mm casing window opening/section milling tools.The series has the ability to open Windows under special working conditions such as BG 155V high steel grade large wall thickness casing and double casing.
Downhole Multiply Switch By-pass Valve
It has three series of products with sizes of 6¾", 8" and 9", which can put the switch ball set into the drilling tool at the wellhead and control the bypass valve by pump pressure and is widely used for special operations such as leak-stopping without tripping out. While protecting downhole instruments, the efficiency of leak-stopping operation is improved and the risk of well control is reduced. At present, the tool has been popularized and applied in wells such as Zi303, Gaoshi 018-1-H2, Xuantan 1 and Datan 1 for 46 times, and 50 trips have been saved for leak-stopping while drilling, and the working parameters meet the design requirements.

CNPC Deepwater Drilling Technical Consulting & Training
